Contracts, garage sales, STAAR

So...contracts have been signed and placements have been made.  I'm thinking we are all in the clear about where we are going to be next year.  Still haven't mentioned about it because I am still nervous and none of my students know.  I'm going to tell them closer to the end of the year.  I can't believe we only have 7 more weeks of school.  It seems just yesterday I was welcoming my students in my classroom.  I have loved every minute of it.  I don't think I would change anything.

Packing.  Ugh!  Packing.  I loathe packing.  Especially seeing others pack and knowing you won't see them next year.  :(  But I know that good will come from the changes.  I am clearing out my room and starting fresh next year.  I am getting rid of some clutter around my room and taking out things that I really don't need.  :)  Look at me being productive.

Garage sales are teacher's best friends.  You can find tons of cool stuff that you can use and the kids will be really excited about it all.  I went with a friend of mine to two today.  I love spending time with my friend.  Glad I will be seeing her next year.  Soooooooo many ideas!!!!  :)

STAAR.  It's the new TAKS.  Been reading up on it.  Have nothing really to say about it.  Don't want to stress myself out too bad.

No news on the baby front yet.  Still hoping.  Gets harder a little every day because it is getting closer to when my due date was.  I am so thankful for my friends that get and understand me.  I am forever grateful.

So...that is the catching up in my life.  :)  I now have two things on donorschoose.org for you to donate to if you have the time/money.  It would really help me out to have these things for my classroom.  My kids would really enjoy it also.

Don't forget to say "I love you."

Going Ons

Wow...it's been awhile.  Lots of stuff going on in my life and also around the world.  :(  Budget cuts are hitting schools hard.  I never realized how difficult it might become.  Friday was the day we found out whether we had a job and if we did where we would be.  It hurt to hear the news from the people that I have come to love and it hurt a lot more to see some so upset about the news.  I wish I could help and take away all the pain and anger some of these people have.  I just have to think to myself, "It will be alright."  Since my position next year is tentatively placed, I'm not going to write about it just yet.  I wouldn't want to get my hopes up if it changes.  I really hope it doesn't.

Kiddos are doing good.  Just been going to school and staying busy.  Cheer season is over until the end of April.  I think we both were ready for it to end.  It was a loooooooong season.  :)  But it was fun.

Scott and I celebrated our 7th anniversary on March 5th.  I find it hard to believe that we have been married for 7 years.  Wow!  We started the day at the science museum at Fair Park.  It was so much fun!  I felt like I was a kid!  I enjoyed it and I hope to go back one day soon.  We also went and had dinner at Medieval Times.  It was so much FUN!  I want to go back!  I had no voice when we left.  I was yelling, screaming, and laughing all at once.  It was nice to not think about anything during that time either.  I love him so much for thinking of what we were doing for our anniversary.  He always tries to make it fun for me.  I will remember this anniversary for a long time!!!

We are still trying for our own bundle of joy.  Right now, not looking so hot.  But we will never say never!  Ha!  Threw some Bieber up in here!  LOL!

Spring break week.  Man.  My first Spring Break.  What to do?  What to do?  I think we are going to hit up the zoo and maybe check out a museum.  But Thursday, my boy has to have a tooth pulled.  Good times!  :)

If you feel the need to help out my classroom and the future of our students, please donate to our project!!!  The link is posted below.  Thank you so much!  Love to you all!!!

Seriously

Okay, so I don't know what is up with me lately.  I haven't really been feeling like myself and I have wanted to cry at the drop of a hat.  Of course, I have been stressing lately and people aren't working with me.  But, oh well.  I guess that is part of being an adult.  If I could go back to when I was a kid when nothing really mattered or was truly important, that would be a nice little break.  I try to keep my kids from growing up fast and one day they will realize it when they are older why we asked them to wait.

Speaking of growing up, Kaylie has a boyfriend.  Yes, she is in 3rd grade.  Yes, she is only 8.  All they do is talk and eat lunch together.  They are so cute!  He got her a teddy bear for Valentine's Day.  HUGE!!!  But they are sweet family and I really like them so...

Next weekend is Kaylie's cheer competition.  One is in Fort Worth and the other is in Denton.  One on Saturday and the other is on Sunday.  So next weekend, I will be cheering A-H-M-O!  :)

I can't believe my baby girl is going to be 9 this month.  I can't believe it.  Nope.  Won't believe it.  Of course, at this moment I am unsure of where she is going to be on her actual birthday.  I'm pretty much sure she isn't going to be with us.  :(

Brendan has been doing good.  Playing video games and going to school.  Nothing much going on in his 11 year old life.

We are overall doing good.  Nothing major to report.

Oh, of course with all the snow/ice that we had I was very careful not to fall.  I watched my step and I walked slow.  So on today, a day where there is only a little ice, I fell.  In front of my friend who has the flu so I am sure that I was her highlight for the day.  Nice way to begin my Friday.  Ended pretty well too.  I have no room to complain about much.  Except budget cuts and more budget cuts.  Oh well...

Ice Days

Really?  Three days?  Yes, we have been out of school for 3 days because of ice.  Yes, ice.  In the state of Texas.  While we might end up going to school until mid-June, I think deep down (once I get past my state of anxiety) I enjoyed staying home.  I got to clean, do some laundry, and just relax.  Of course, I would much prefer going to work and doing something really productive but we all have to be safe.  Now, they are calling for snow, so who knows if we will be going to school tomorrow.  A lot of my friends have been victims of the rolling blackouts.  So far, we have been pretty lucky.  Without electricity, I think that would be the final push to put me on the list for officially insane.  :)

I am going to try my baking skills out today.  Of course, my baking comes from packages and not from scratch.  I'm not that type of girl.  :)  So we will see about making some chocolate cookies and some sugar cookies.

Work has been going great for me.  I love the people I work with and I love my students.  I always tell them I think they are the best class in the whole school!  They are truly some of the greatest kids ever!  Scott's work is going good.  Poor man is out in this cold weather helping those that don't have heat and helping buildings that have gone down.  I love him very much for his willingness to help others.  Of course, it is his job and that is how we pay bills but he makes me very happy with what he does.  The kids have been playing video games and playing on the computer and watching TV.  As long as they aren't fighting, I'm good.  Of course, it doesn't stay quiet long with Kaylie around but that girl just talks and talks.

Yesterday, I took the kids outside to use their sleds and have them go down the driveway.  They sure did have a lot of fun!  Of course, I was freezing the whole time.  I'm really glad that nobody saw me do it because it was incredibly embarrassing.  So I took pictures of the kids and watched them get ice and water all over themselves.  Once I got to the point where I couldn't take it anymore, we went back inside to thaw out.

Overall, our 3 days out of school have been good.  Now, to see whether we get to go to school tomorrow or if this is a short vacation.  Have a wonderful day!!!!

 Look at that face!  :)

Scared

My life has had so many ups and downs that it is so hard for me to really think positive.  Since my miscarriage, I have had many thoughts and some of them were not positive ones.  Mostly it was thoughts of what could have been and what should have been.  Basically I was mad at myself.  I kept thinking about what I did and what I could have done differently.  Of course, there was nothing that I could have done.  What happened is what happened.  Nothing could have changed the outcome but dang it if I don't wish that wasn't the ending.  :(  So anyway...I'm scared.  I'm scared to even try again.  I am so fearful that I will take the test and it be positive and then in a few weeks the doctor say oh wait nevermind.  I am so scared.  I haven't been this scared in a long time.  I wish I didn't have to feel that way.  Oh well.  Well, times will change and I am sure that my feelings will change also.  I have to try to think positive and realize that this time might be different when the time comes.

Thoughts Of A Woman

Again, I can't believe it is already 2011! When I was graduating in 2002 from high school, I never would have believed that I would be married and have children. I was very adamant about never getting married and having children. That just shows you that you never know what you want until life hands you something different. I look at everything around me and think, "Wow! I am so glad this is how my life turned out."

It's snowing here in Texas. Imagine that. Snow. In Texas. Of course we had a lot of snow last year but still snow in Texas. Such weirdness.

Not much has been going on here. Started a new picture blog. That is lots of fun for me. I just hope that I will be able to get a picture up everyday. It is harder than what I thought it was going to be. K has her first competition coming up at the end of January. That should be fun! I always love seeing her happy and cheer is what makes her happy. Cleaned my blinds today. Whew! Never want to do that again! It is really cold outside. If I weren't lazy and cold, I would take my kids outside. B is getting big. I can't believe he is 11. Man! I'm getting old.

I have waited my two cycles and we should be trying again in the next few months. I'm nervous, sad, excited, and anxious to get this started. Of course, not a day goes by where I don't think about my first pregnancy. I hope the second time around ends with a better result. Sometimes when I think about it, it hits me like a knife in my heart. I feel as if I say that all the time. I feel like a failure but then I have to remind myself that I didn't do anything wrong. Something had to be wrong from the beginning but it doesn't make it feel any better. I just wish that I never had to go through it. But then again, I think it has made me have a new outlook in life.

Always tell your family and those that you love that you love them everyday! Sometimes you want to tell somebody something but they are not there anymore. Take care of yourself! Love like crazy!!!

I will...

Wow! I can't believe it is already 2011. 2010 was such a trying year. Lots of good. Lots of bad. It is one year I won't ever forget.

I am not one for making resolutions because I end up breaking them as soon as I make them. So, I am going to tell myself each day to do and be better than the day before.

I am going to be a better mother, teacher, friend, and wife. I will remember that each day is new and not to look back on the negatives in life and just move forward. I will forgive those that have hurt me and remember that we are all human. I will love my husband and children more than ever and remember each day is a blessing. I will remember that my job is special. I am the guidance to those children and how I act/teach is a model for those children. I will be grateful for those that helped me and will continue to help me. I will support those that need it and those that don't realize they need it. I will be thankful everyday for the chance to live my life with freedom. I will remember that things happen for reasons and to not dwell on them. I will remember the moments that took my breath away and broke my heart but at the same time heal from the pain. I will remember with happiness those that are no longer with me, even if they have been gone for awhile. I will take time from my busy life to spend it with my children playing games and talking. I will take time and really talk with my husband.

I might not make resolutions but I do have things I want to do.

I hope that you all have a happy and joyous new year!!!!!
